The Blurb
When Brittney Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of her senior year, she has no clue that her “perfect” life is about to unravel before her eyes. Forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, Brittney finds herself having to protect everything she’s worked so hard for- her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend and, most importantly, the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittney into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But the closer Alex and Brittney get to each other, the more they realise that sometimes appearances can be deceptive and that you have to look beneath the surface to discover the truth.
My Review
Perfect chemistry is a beautifully written book about two people from two completely different worlds who find themselves together. The books has a message throughout that you shouldn’t judge people just by there appearances and that some people can surprise you. My favourite quote from the book is “we are actors in our lives pretendin’ to be who we want people to think we are” I believe this quote is very accurate to today’s society as many people, like Brittney, believe they have to be “perfect” to be accepted in society. Simone address this issue as through the book Brittney realises that being “perfect” doesn’t matter as the people who truly matter will accept you for who you are. I find this book has a beautiful love story that blossoms from the most unexpected situation and shows that it doesn’t matter who you are anyone can be together if they love each other.
I recomend this book to anyone who loves a good love story 🙂
