‘City Of Bones’ is the first in the New York Times best selling series ‘The Mortal Instruments’ written by Cassandra Clare.

About The Author

Clare was born Judith Rumelt, to American parents, in Tehran (Iran). Her parents are Elizabeth and Richard Rumelt, who are a business school professor and author. Her maternal grandfather was film producer Max Rosenberg. Clare is Jewish, and has described her family as “notreligious”. As a child, Clare traveled frequently, spending time in Switzerland, England and France. She returned to Los Angeles for high school, and from then on split her time between California and New York, where she worked at various entertainment magazines and tabloids, including The Hollywood Reporter. While living in Los Angeles Clare began writing fan fiction using the name Cassandra Claire. The Draco Trilogy based on Harry Potter and The Very Secret Diaries based on The Lord Of The Rings were popular. However, she deleted her fan fiction from the Internet shortly before her first novel, The City of Bones, was published under the name Cassandra Clare.

My Review

After hearing about my friend Megan reading these books and telling me how great they were I decided to read them too and it was the best decision I’ve made. Clary Fray lives a normal life, unaware of who she truly is.. a Shadowhunter. Half-human, Half-Angel they are able to see things others don’t. And the coolest bit? They hunt and kill demons. After visiting the night club Pandemonium, Where Clary sees Shadowhunters for the first time, Clary begins to understand who she truly is she slowly remembers everything her mother tried to make her forget. And after meeting Jace, a fellow Shadowhunter of the New York institute, she finds herself falling for him. But everything is not as it seems. When Clary’s father Valentine turns up everything changes.. and not for the good. City of Bones is the first book of the 6 part series the Mortal Instruments which is my most favorite series EVER!!! Truly an absolutely fantastic read!

I recommend this book/series to anybody who loves fantasy books and books that involve shadowhunters, vampires, werewolves, warlocks and faeries 🙂
