The Blurb
‘Everyone likes everything these days. The whole world is a nerd’
‘Are you mad because other people like Star Wars? are you mad people like me like Star Wars?’
if you broke Elena’s heart, Star Wars would spill out. So when she decides to queue outside her local cinema to see the new movie, she ‘s expecting a celebration with crowds of people who love Han, Luke and Leia just as much as she does.
What she’s not expecting is to be last in a line of only three people; to have to pee into a collectible Star Wars soda cup behind a dumpster or to meet that unlikely someone who just might truly understand the way she feels.
My Review
Yet again I have been cast under a spell of awe from the writing of Rainbow Rowell. This book was such a fun, quick and easy read (it literally took me 30 minutes to read it as I didn’t put it down) and like all of Rainbow’s books was absolutely amazing!
Despite having never watched Star Wars *please do not judge me* I still found this book relatable as I like Elena have waited for numerous hours in lines at concerts to see my favorite singers/bands. An what I do know from waiting in lines is just how amazing they can sometimes be as you can meet some pretty incredible people.
I found this quirky short story to be extremely immersive and you do not need a love of Star Wars to enjoy this book as you can still find great joy in it without a love for Star Wars.
I think the only thing I wish was different about this book is Iwish it was longer!!! Rainbow Rowell’s books constantly give me the “please don’t end yet” feels.
I recommend this book to everyone who has a love for Rainbow Rowell and anyone who has a fangirl side creeping to come out!
My Rating
For utter brilliance I give this book 5/5 stars.
